In recognition of Mr Weibo Li’s support and contributions to Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) Shenzhen Research Institute, the institute’s newly constructed building is named Li Weibo Building. The ceremony was held in Nanshan Virtualization Technology Park on Oct 23, 2014. CUHK received a HKD $ 30M grant from Mr Li, which was used to fund the growth of the university and the construction of the institute’s new building.

The newly constructed building is 25,000 square meters across nine floors. The institute will focus on the 16 leading disciplines of CUHK in biomedicine, information technology and sustainable development areas.
