Shenzhen Business Daily: Li Weibo Foundation Donates to Three Universities

Yesterday the Li Weibo Foundation held a donation ceremony at Yunli Intelligence Park in Bantian, where the foundation announced its donations in tens of millions of yuan to the School of Economics and Management Science of Harbin Institute of Technology, Morningside College of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and the University of Massachusetts Medical School for research purposes. The foundation reportedly donated RMB2 million to the Harbin Institute of Technology Education Development Foundation, which would be used to fund the “Li Weibo Scholarship” at the School of Economics and Management Science”; it gave HK$2 million to Morningside College of the Chinese University of Hong Kong; it donated US$1.5 million to the University of Massachusetts Medical School, where it would be used to fund Professor Wen Zhiping’s biomedical research. Meanwhile, it signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the University of Massachusetts Medical School to help the latter move its genetics and cell science research and whole-industry chain industry-university-research commercialization to Shenzhen.
