Recently, the main building of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) Shenzhen Research Institute named its main building "Li Wei Bo building, CUHK Shenzhen Research Institute", in recognition of Chairman Li’s contribution to education and society.

In June 2007, Chairman Li donated HKD $30 million to (CUHK) in support of establish an institute in Shenzhen. With a gross floor area of 25,000 square meters, The this 9-storey building is a window to showcase CUHK in Mainland, and a good platform to promote cooperation between the university and the industry in education, and research. ,which will benefit the long-term development of CUHK in Mainland China.
