November 4^th, 2012 – The 2012 “Share the Love” charity night was held in Shenzhen, the theme of the evening being “Let love from the heart return home!”This event was organized by the ‘Shenzhen Caring’ foundation and a number of socially conscious enterprises. More than 300 celebrities, artists, actors and business people were in attendance, including Glory Harvest Group chairman Dr. Li Weibo, along with Chen Shu and Zhao Yinyin, Zhang Lianwei, Gao Xiaosong and many others. These members of the social elite were gathered in order to make their donations to poverty-stricken areas and to the children of urban migrant workers. Together they have set up the ‘Dream Center’ foundation, calling on the whole community to take concrete action and devote more of their efforts to improve the quality of rural education.

The “Share the Love” charity night was the first of its kind in China, and ran in accordance with accepted standards for listed companies to give an open and transparent disclosure of independent social welfare donations within their annual reports. The Shanghai ‘Cherished Dream Charity Foundation’ was the designated charity fund for this event, and its guiding principle is to collect donations based on a feeling of love and care for the community at large. The aim of this project was to raise money to build “Dream Center” multimedia classrooms for schools in remote areas and those aimed at the children of urban migrant workers. Through the implementation of the “Dream Course” of high-quality education, the center looks to cultivate the students’ creativity, independent thinking and vision, in order to help them grow into thinking, confident, calm, and dignified individuals.

At the charity auction, Chairman Li Weibo donated ‘Picture of Guanyin’, a work by the famous painter Mr. Xing Dong, worth several million RMB. The proceeds of this went to support public welfare donations for ‘supporting quality education, and promoting balanced education’. This is now the second consecutive year that Chairman Li has attended the "Share the Love" charity night, a cause to which he has donated a total of 600,000 yuan in cash, and other items worth more than a million towards the "Dream Center" project for primary schools in remote areas.

The "Dream Center" is a standardized model for constructing an interactive classroom in rural schools, including computers, books, and multimedia materials. Each classroom has an area of about 70-100 square meters, with around 3000 books, 4 networked computers, a television set, a DVD player, and also some digital cameras and MP3 players. In this environment, children can experience a lively modern atmosphere, and are not only able to broaden their horizons, but also to gain a respect for knowledge and enjoy the learning process.

In the faraway Benxi Manchu Autonomous County in eastern Liaoning Province, the “Dream Center” donated by Chairman Li is quietly changing the local way of education. A senior figure at the Benxi Manchu Autonomous County Experimental Primary School told this reporter that the “Dream Center” donations, which were first made use of in the summer of 2012, have been warmly received by the children. The new elements of entertainment in their education have reignited students’ interest in learning. More importantly, the “Dream Center” project has improved the learning conditions within the school, narrowing the gap between it and schools in urban areas. Deputy County Prefect Wang Yan spoke highly of the Cherished Dream Foundation, and Chairman Li Weibo’s donations, during an inspection of the primary school, saying it is important to continue studying this new approach to learning and set up their own ‘Dream Center’.
