On February 20th, the first Council Meeting of the Hua Club Eco-Foundation was held in Shenzhen. As a member of the council, Glory Harvest Group Chairman Mr. Li Weibo was also in attendance.

As the first foundation OCT has been involved in, the mission of the Hua Club Eco-Foundation is to advocate eco-friendly living, spread the message of a green society, and promote ecological conservation and environmental education. At the end of 2012, the foundation organized the world's largest ever independent non-governmental environmental event by holding a charity auction together with the globally recognized World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). The auction raised a total of 4.23 million yuan, of which Chairman Li generously pledged 1 million yuan himself. It is understood that the money raised by the auction will be injected into the Shenzhen Hua Club’s ecological fund, and put to use in cooperation with the WWF "Wetlands Feathers in Flight" project for the environmental protection of wetlands.

In the future, the Hua Club Eco-Foundation will use various forms of individual and cooperative approaches to carry out environmental protection work and spark the public’s interest in green living. These will include funding and managing public welfare projects to benefit wetlands areas, providing support for scientific research into the development of ecological construction and environmental protection projects, establishing media platforms and other special events to enable students and members of the public to attend ecological education courses, actively creating an atmosphere of social awareness in terms of environmental protection, establishing environmental incentive schemes, holding different events each year to focus on particular ‘hot topics’, and combining funds received from donors to help run various environmental protection projects.
